From the valley station (828m) the cable car goes through two transfer stations up to the Nebelhorn summit (2.224m). Up there three chairlifts take the skier to the ski-slope. Those with more time on their hands should definitely make a point of visiting the Stuibenfall while they’re at it! Gerstruben, the tiny settlement which is classified completely as a historical monument, provides very interesting information about everyday life in the mountains. One chapel, four farmsteads dating back to the 17th and 18th centuries, a dairy and a sawmill have all been restored with loving care. Then again, you mustn’t forget to stop at the Christlessee or the Jauchen chapel, or .... well, we could go on and on! Perhaps, on second thoughts, you’re better off discovering Oberstdorf’s places of paradise for yourself, after all!
