Formerly a well-kept secret, this charming area now impresses with numerous new facilities and is gradually developing into a premium ski area for the whole family.

More quietly and with far greater comfort than their predecessors, the 10-seater gondolas transport winter sports enthusiasts to the awaiting pistes. Whether beginners or pros, the Ifen offers the perfect descent for everyone. The fully refurbished mountain restaurant also invites you to stop for a break: delicious organic and regional specialities are served in a tasteful ambiance.

The Olympiabahn chair lift built last year was instantly met with great enthusiasm and kept waiting times to a minimum when the ski slopes opened at the start of each day. A modern snow-making system with a reservoir as well as both waste water and drinking water pipes vastly increased the certainty of snow. The brand new Ifen I and Ifen II gondola lifts (opening December 2017) provide even more winter sports enjoyment and are the crowning glory of the quality offensive on the breathtaking Ifen.

Dining on the mesa

The former Hahnenköpfle restaurant has been renamed “Tafel & Zunder” and taken on a new lease of life, offering exceptional organic and regional dishes, professionally made from local ingredients. The new name also hints at the restaurant’s regional focus – even if you need detailed knowledge of the mountain’s geology to realise it: the word “Tafel” is not only the German term for a long, festively laid table but also makes reference to the Ifen – the main feature of which is a mesa or table-top plateau.
