Length: 6.3 km Elevation gain/loss: 461 m
Duration: 1,5 hours
As you first start to climb, the hike takes you past the Schattenbergschanze ski jumping hill.
Over the last century, the water from the Faltenbach river has impressively bored into the slopes of the Schattenberg. Today, the resultant ravine provides a very special habitat for many rare and protected plant and animal species. This section of the route provides you with an impressive and exciting view of the wild river. You can also spot layers of stone that usually remain hidden deep down below the ground in the Allgäu Alps.
